Course Description:
Supervisess, like clients, come from different cultures and backgrounds, therefore, it is important for supervisors to cultivate safe places for supervisees to feel heard and supported, regardless of their values and beliefs.
This webinar will explore the importance of modeling and teaching cultural humility within supervision sessions. Attendees will learn key supervisory skills to address cultural differences and bias within supervision while still respecting the supervisees needs, life experiences and worldviews.
The workshop will explore the use of the multicultural competence model for clinical supervisors to gain the awareness, skills and knowledge to work with supervisees from a variety of backgrounds. Case studies, group discussions and interactive activities will be used in this workshop to enhance the knowledge, critical thinking and sensitivity of supervisors in clinical supervision. Participants will leave this workshop with a higher level of cultural responsiveness and attention to the influence of diversity in clinical supervision.

Upon the completion of this course, participants will be able to:
• Discuss 3 counselor self-assessment tools to evaluate cultural competence in supervision meetings
• Analyze the 4 components of multicultural competence
• Assess 3 types of cross-cultural relationships between supervisors, supervisees and clients
