This webinar reviews various types of concept maps and suggests areas in which they can be most beneficial in nursing education. Examples include how to implement concept mapping with students to promote comprehension of disease processes and medications. Concept maps are presented as a framework for patient education development. Specific ideas for how to implement conceptual care maps in place of traditional care plans and clinical worksheets are provided. Concept mapping and conceptual care mapping examples that enhance the clinical judgment of nursing students are highlighted. Resources are provided for the assessment and evaluation of student critical thinking and judgment skills.
