Course Overview / Description
There is variability in clinical performance assessments of medical students on clinical clerkships with several studies reporting high inter-rater variability and low reproducibility. This
workshop is designed to improve the reliability of clinical facultyand preceptors' assessment of the clinical performance of medical students.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this presentation, attendees will be able to:
• Improve observational skills through reflection with other clinical instructors.
• Develop insight through observation of others' perceptions of the same encounter.
• Generate increased reliability for medical student clinical performance assessment.
• Employ effective direct observation in clinical assessment.
