
Bioterrorism

Bioterrorism is organized by Vista Continuing Education. This course has been approved for a maximum of 3CE.
Course Overview:
Terrorism involving biological weapons and can range from putting deadly substances in the nation's food supply to the aerosolized release of a contagious virus over a city. Anthrax, botulinum toxin, plague, ricin, smallpox, tularemia and viral hemorrhagic fevers are on the top of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's list of biological weapons, considered "Category A" weapons most likely to be used in an attack.
Course Objectives:
• The clinician will be able to describe acts of terrorism.
• The clinician will be able to describe nuclear, biological and chemical weapons of mass destruction.
• The clinician will be able to dentify the symptoms associated with exposure to weapons of mass destruction.
• The clinician will be able to describe the Syndromic surveillance and reporting procedures for acts of terrorism.
• The clinician will be able to describe personal protective equipment required for acts of terrorism.
