This symposium discusses the latest advances in the identification and current therapies on biofilm formation in the oral and maxillofacial region, including advances in detection of biofilm compared to conventional methods, anti-biofilm strategies, and biofilm’s role in the disease process involving the oral and maxillofacial region, such as implant periimplantitis and Medication-Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaws (MRONJ).
