Prevention is becoming the forefront dentistry with more treatment strategies than ever before. This webinar will briefly chart the recent advances in ultrasonic technology including insert development and the role of fluoride varnish in surgery. It will describe the history, modality and progression of ultrasonics and their use in treating periodontal disease, touching on insert selection and instrumentation and how manufacturers have improved on their earlier designs. It will also highlight the recent advances in fluoride varnish showing benefits for patients with dentine hyper-sensitivity.
At the end of the webinar attendees will:
• Understand the role of prevention in developing treatment strategies
• Understand the advantages and disadvantages of ultrasonic technology, particularly in the treatment of periodontal disease
