
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Refresher Course (Sep 12, 2024)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Refresher Course is organized by Cantonal Hospital St.Gallen / Kantonsspital St.Gallen and will be held on Sep 12, 2024 at REA2000 – Center for Resuscitation and Simulation Training, St Gallen, Sankt Gallen, Switzerland. This In-Person Event has been approved for a maximum of 8 Credits.
The ACLS course includes the following:
• Break meals and lunch
• ACLS Provider Manual
• ACLS Handbook
• American Heart Association Fees
Goal
After successfully completing this course, course participants should master the following learning objectives:
• Recognize the circumstances of impending cardiac arrest that may lead to cardiac arrest or complicate resuscitation and initiate early management
• Safely master basic resuscitation measures, including the priority role of chest compressions and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
• Recognize and treat respiratory failure
• Recognize and care for patients in cardiac arrest until resuscitation is stopped or the patient is transferred, including emergency care after cardiac arrest
• Recognize and treat patients with acute coronary syndrome early, including appropriate transfer
• Recognize a stroke and treat it early, including transfer
• Demonstrate communicative competence as a member or leader of a resuscitation team and know what role the dynamics in the team play in the success of the joint work
Content
• BLS triage - basic resuscitation measures (Basic Life Support)
• High-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• ACLS triage
• ACLS algorithms
• Effective teamwork during resuscitation
• Emergency care for cardiac arrest
• Treatment in the post-resuscitation phase (ROSC)
