Goal:
This activity will define caregiving and the burden caregivers face as a result of providing care for a person living with Alzheimer’s disease as well as discuss interventions and resources designed to assist caregivers. In addition, the benefits provided to caregivers in the state of Florida will be discussed.
Educational Objectives:
Upon completion of this program, participants should be better able to:
• Define what is meant by caregiving and caregiver burden
• Discuss the psychological, physical, and financial impact of caregiving
• Indicate interventions available to support caregivers
• Recognize the benefits provided to caregivers by the state of Florida
