The 2023 Christian Medical & Dental Associations (CMDA) West Coast Winter Conference is organized by Christian Medical & Dental Associations (CMDA) and will be held from Jan 19 - 22, 2023 at Cannon Beach Conference Center, 289 N Spruce St, Cannon Beach, Oregon, United States of America.,Objectives:,• Discuss scientific literature findings regarding theories of the origins, nature, and demographics of same-sex sexual attraction and identification.,• Cite scientific literature findings regarding theories of the origins, nature, and demographics of same-sex sexual attraction and identification.,• Review risks of same-sex sexual practices.,• Discuss providers with the scientific literature findings regarding the nature of gender dysphoria in minors.,• Describe the claims, evidence, and risks of watchful waiting and gender/transition-affirming therapies.,• Identify the state of the evidence regarding watchful waiting vs gender/transition-affirming therapies.,• Describe providers to compassionately respond to challenging interactions with gender dysphoric children and their families.,• Identify potential conflicts of rights in the care of sexual minority patients.,• Discuss philosophical/ideological interests regarding provider conscience rights.,• List change-allowing therapeutic models.,• Identify the conflicts regarding change-allowing therapeutic models.,• Cite several recent legal and court developments regarding change-allowing therapeutic models. ,Additional details will be posted as soon as information is available.
