Program Overview:
The purpose of this activity is to educate medical professionals on High Risk OB-Normal Labor
Ms. Glasgow, RNC-OB, presents basic terminology of fetal heart tracing and discuss examples to illustrate those terms. She will provide information on assessing fetal well-being in the antenatal period. She defines aspects considered normal in the fetal heart rate tracing and changes considered to be indicative of declining fetal acid-base status. She will discuss documentation of the fetal heart rate tracing and the nursing interventions associated with the interpretation of such.
Objectives:
• The participant will be able to identify 4 components of fetal heart rate interpretation.
• The participant will be able to discuss 3 types of antenatal testing.
• The participant will be able to analyze a fetal heart rate tracing, document the findings, and devise a plan of care based on this evaluation.
