11th Intensive Course X-ray Findings in Pediatric Traumatology
11th Intensive Course X-ray Findings in Pediatric Traumatology is organized by Ole Ackermann and will be held on Sep 28, 2024 at Lindner Hotel Dusseldorf Airport - JDV by Hyatt, Hamburg, Germany.
Description:
The treatment of fractures during growth and the interpretation of X-rays are essential basic skills in many clinical disciplines, especially in surgery, orthopedics/trauma surgery and radiology. An independent and confident assessment is expected in the on-call service right from the start of the profession. However, due to the narrow curricula, comprehensive training is not possible during medical studies, so that during the years of specialist training, learning by doing with sometimes painful experiences has to replace the training. However, even with specialist qualifications, it is not guaranteed that all essential pathologies will be reliably identified or even seen once.
This course takes into account the special requirements of X-ray findings and treatment during growth. The peculiarities of fractures in children are explained and special and common fractures of the child's skeleton and their treatment are discussed, especially pitfalls in imaging and diagnostics. For intensive training, participants receive learning software with 2,000 original X-ray images from everyday clinical practice. These images are assessed independently by each participant, including stability, displacement, growth prognosis and correction potential. The selection ensures that all essential pathologies are detected. At the same time, the "quick eye of the experienced doctor begins to develop. Additionally included is an extensive library with standard images of all skeletal sections from all growth phases, a condensed basic part and an interactive training of the radiologically important bony structures. The software can be used by can be used permanently by each participant so that this training can be deepened and repeated at home.
Additional details will be posted as soon as information is available.
