Vasu Divi, MD is an Associate Professor of Head and Neck Surgery, quality improvement leader, and researcher who joined Stanford University in 2012. As a transformational leader, Dr. Divi is a visionary in leveraging data and technology to deliver high-value, efficient care in new patient-focused business models in the private sector and start-up space. He is currently enrolled in the Master of Clinical Informatics Management degree at Stanford providing foundational MBA classes from the lens of digital health and innovation to transform cost, quality, and access in healthcare.
Dr. Divi’s background in economics, prior work as a management consultant, and extensive medical experience uniquely position him at the intersection of healthcare, industry, digital health, and innovative technology. He is a world-renowned, leading researcher in the fields of cancer therapy, designing and running pivotal clinical trials, and high-value healthcare. His critical work on establishing new quality metrics in head and neck cancer has led to new standards for surgical practice. He has extensive hospital leadership, operations, and strategy experience and currently serves as the Medical Director of Quality at the Stanford Cancer Center, and the Chair of the Quality, Patient Safety, and Clinical Effectiveness Committee for the 3,000+ physician staff.
Dr. Divi completed his medical residency in the University of Michigan Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He then completed a Head and Neck Surgical Oncology fellowship at Harvard Medical School Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. He is a practicing attending surgeon and directs the advanced training fellowship at Stanford with specific expertise in oral cavity cancer, advanced skin cancers, and complex microvascular reconstruction.
