Dr. T. S. Sathyanarayana Rao is a renowned psychiatrist and Sexual Health Specialist from India. His immense contribution and collaborative research has taken psychiatry and sexual medicine in India beyond boundaries into the global village and he has provided extraordinary and exemplary contribution to the field.
He is currently serving as a Professor at the Department of Psychiatry, which he headed for more than two decades at JSS Medical College, Mysore affiliated with JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, formerly JSS University, Mysore. He was the Editor, of the Indian Journal of Psychiatry, the official publication of the Indian Psychiatric Society for 12 years, and the earlier Indian Journal of Psychological Medicine. He is associated in various capacities with 3 major Indian Journals so also 2 International journals.
He has 28 books or book chapters, 250 plus research and review articles, and 18 orations to his credit. He is associated as the Secretary of the Psychiatry and Human Sexuality Section of WPA, also with SASSM, AOFS, WAPR, IPS, IAPP, IEA, earlier WAS, and many other National and International organizations, as organized more than 20 National and International Conferences, has been faculty at many SAARC and other countries. He was instrumental in the first formal Sexual Medicine programs in India at the JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research.
