Sarah Thomsen Ferreira, MS, MPH, RD, IFNCP, CHWC is an Integrative Registered Dietitian dedicated to a client-centered, “Food as Medicine” approach to wellness. Sarah received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science with a minor in Psychology from Russell Sage College and subsequently earned a Master of Science in Nutrition and Food Management and a Master of Public Health in Public Health Practice.
Sarah is currently the Manager of Clinical Nutrition at the Cleveland Clinic Center for Functional Medicine, where she oversees day-to-day clinical nutrition assessment and interventions, and host of the Integrative IDEAs in Nutrition podcast. Previous professional experience includes time as an inpatient clinical dietitian in rural hospitals and inpatient eating disorder unit settings, in addition to ownership of a private practice dedicated to Integrative and Functional Nutrition (IFN) for mind, mood, and digestive health.
With formal training in public health, Sarah was a contributing author to the Health of Boston (2014-2015) report, has worked with low-income populations as a WIC Nutritionist, interned with the New York State Public Health Association in the design of their annual educational meeting, and has led group-based mindfulness-based eating awareness training.
Sarah has spoken on the role of Nutrition in Recovery at the NYS National Association on Mental Illness (NAMI) Education Conference, presented webinars for Dietitian Central focused on thyroid health, and has been a featured speaker with the Olana Pathways to Prevention series in Hudson, NY focusing on food as medicine for high blood pressure, nutrition for brain health & seasonal superfoods for better immune function.
