Lindi Campbell
MA
Lexington, Kentucky, United States
Less than two years ago, Lindi faced a life-altering thoracotomy surgery to remove two lobes of her right lung when pathology revealed the nodule growing inside her lung was cancer. Since her diagnosis, she has been on a mission to spread awareness about the impact early detection has on survivorship and speaks out to help erase the stigma. Lindi grew up around second-hand smoke and radon and wants others to be aware that anyone can get lung cancer.
Lindi's proactive approach toward spreading awareness provides a rare glimpse into a stage 1 lung cancer survivor’s perspective on awareness, prevention, and early detection of the disease. She started her nonprofit organization to create a community of support for lung cancer survivors and their families and to raise money for lung cancer in Kentucky to support organizations dedicated to survivorship. Lindi was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky and a master’s degree from Western Kentucky University in Communications. Aside from the work she does with her nonprofit and her upcoming charity event, Lindi has worked alongside her husband at their CPA firm, Campbell & Company, CPA, PLLC as Business Manager for the past 12 years.
