As Assistant Vice President for External Relations and Operations, Lance Poston leads efforts that promote Student Success and create new ways for university and community stakeholders to engage in the important work of Student Success units. Poston oversees key areas in the Office of the Vice President, including marketing and communications, philanthropy, and facilities resources and planning. Additionally, he supports the vice president with general administration duties and strategic project management.
Prior to this role, Poston served in several leadership positions in the University’s Office for Institutional Diversity including, most recently, as the executive director who managed external partnerships, communications, and UK HealthCare collaborations for the vice president. Poston also has a faculty appointment in the UK’s College of Arts and Sciences. He received a Ph.D. and M.A. from Ohio University and a B.A. from Presbyterian College.
