Dr. Hanna is board certified by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties in Oncology Pharmacy and Pharmacotherapy. He received his doctorate of pharmacy from Florida A&M University, completed his general residency at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville, TN, and his oncology residency at St. Luke's Mountain States Tumor Institute, Boise, ID.
He is currently an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. He primarily practices the Hematology/Oncology pharmacy at the University of Minnesota Medical Center and Mayo Clinic. On a national level, Dr. Hanna has been an invited speaker for the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association, and the Minnesota Society of Health-System Pharmacists (MSHP) and has been featured in The Video Journal of Oncology. Dr. Hanna is an active member of MSHP and currently serves as President-Elect for the Southern Affiliate Chapter.
Dr. Hanna’s research interests are focused on outcome measures for patients with rare diseases. He is actively involved and holds various roles with the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association, Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, Aplastic Anemia and MDS International Foundation, and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.
