She is responsible for the ongoing advancement of the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Area of Concentration and is currently the Subspecialty Coordinator of the Cardiopulmonary Clinical Emphasis. She is a Primary Teacher for the Management of Adult Episodic/Chronic Health Problems in Acute Care and the Cardiopulmonary Clinical Emphasis course. In addition, she teaches selected lectures in advanced pathophysiology, advanced physical assessment, differential diagnosis, and role seminars to graduate nursing students. She maintains a practice as an ACNP on an inpatient cardiology service at UPMC Presbyterian.
She has served as a consultant to several universities interested in developing an ACNP Program. She has been a member of a number of School of Nursing and University committees including the Student Affairs Committee, Co-Chair of the MSN Council, Co-Chair of the Policy Committee, and Chair of the Faculty Practice Council. In addition, she serves on the Evidence-Based Practice Council for UPMC.
