Helen Disney is a serial entrepreneur who has founded 3 companies. She is the CEO of Unblocked, a hub for Blockchain events, education and information and a Co-Founder of GovChain Research. She was listed in Innovate Finance’s 2016 Women in Fintech Powerlist and has been referred to by Barclays as a “Blockchain guru”. She is also a member of techUK and its DLT working group and a co-founder of the British Blockchain and Frontier Technologies Association.
Previously, Helen set up Blockchain Intelligence, a global platform for news, networking and conferences about Blockchain and Distributed Ledgers and from 2014-2015, she worked on outreach at the Bitcoin Foundation, driving a program of strategic events to communicate the innovative potential of Bitcoin and Blockchain technology to innovators, entrepreneurs, policymakers and thought leaders.
Prior to moving into fintech, she set up and ran the Stockholm Network think tank for 15 years, connecting thought leaders and policy experts to create best practices in public policy making. The network was made up of over 120 member policy institutes spanning more than 40 countries.
Helen is a regular conference speaker and commentator on cryptocurrencies and blockchain for organizations including The Economist, The Times, ICO Crowd magazine, and The Fintech Times. Helen has chaired and spoken at a wide range of high-level events across Europe alongside senior decision-makers including Presidents, Prime Ministers, MPs, MEPs, special advisors, civil servants and parliamentary researchers.
