Dr. Guy Lloyd is a clinical cardiologist, practicing general cardiology with special expertise in valvular heart disease and echocardiography. He trained at Guy's and St Thomas’ Hospitals both as an undergraduate and postgraduate, undertaking a period of research (supervised by Dr. Graham Jackson) into the specific clinical problems experienced by women with heart disease. He was appointed a Consultant in 2002 in Eastbourne, Sussex. In 2015 he was recruited to establish and lead the echocardiography service at the new Bart Heart Centre where he is now the clinical director for cardiovascular diagnostics. He is a past President of the British Society of Echocardiography, a founding member of the British Heart Valve Society, and a former chairman of the UK Imaging Council.
Dr. Lloyd is currently the Honorary Secretary of the British Cardiovascular Society. He holds honorary positions at Queen Mary University of London and University College London, he has over 200 publications and lectures widely. He runs a large program of research in stress echo, structural heart disease, and new approaches to the detection of high-frequency diseases in the community. Guy continues to live in Sussex, and when not at work is often to be found dog walking over the South Downs.
