Christa Bell is a FACEM PEM, FRACP, and MRCPCH Paediatrician having trained between three countries and three colleges. Christa works in the Emergency Department at the Gold Coast University Hospital and is one of the clinical leads for the Children’s Emergency service there. Christa’s passion is to simplify the management of the critically unwell child where she draws upon her many years working both as a trainee and consultant in Children’s Critical care.
Christa's interest is in empowering teams with systems, training, and cognitive aids to ensure the quality of resuscitation care for children irrespective of the location. Christa is the medical lead and editor of the CREDD book (Children’s Emergency Drug Dosage Book). Christa instructs on APICS, Paeds Basic, and the Optimus Courses. Christa has also developed the Gold Coast-run "PEM BOOST" series aimed at senior clinicians to improve confidence and inpatient team connections when caring for sick kids. More recently, Christa has been exploring working in regional and remote Emergency departments and the challenges this brings.
