Carmen completed her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Florida State University with an interest in Audiology after beginning her program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She completed her Bachelor’s in Communication Disorders at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She was awarded the Accelerated Care Plus (ACP) Innovator of the Year Award in 2013. Carmen is an American Speech-Language Association ACE Award recipient, has presented at Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association Conferences and is Resident Assessment Coordinator-Certified (RAC-CT) through the American Association of Nurse Coordinators (AANAC).
Carmen is a member of The Dallas Chamber of Commerce Executive Women’s Roundtable, along with the following organizations: Dysphagia Research Society, American College of Healthcare Executives and Who’s Who Among Top Female Executives. She is a co-author of MannaQure, a Standardized English-to-Spanish Assessment of Dysphagia and Dysarthria, and is recognized as a contributor in the development of the Ross Information Processing Assessment Geriatric-RIPA-G 2. Carmen became a Certified Dementia Practitioner in 2015.
