Dr Bushra Rana, Consultant Cardiologist, is the Clinical lead for Non-invasive Cardiology Diagnostic Services at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and is the Education Lead for the Heart, Thoracic and Vascular Institute at Cleveland Clinic London. Before moving to London, she trained in cardiology at Southampton and St Mary’s, Royal Brompton, Hammersmith and King’s College Hospitals in London. She was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at Papworth Hospital, Cambridge (2009-2019). Dr Rana has a wide-ranging experience in all aspects of Cardiology. She chairs a number of specialist clinical meetings including specialist valve and endocarditis Multidisciplinary teams (MDTs).
Dr Rana is a keen educator and is a popular invited speaker at a number of leading national and international conferences, being a leading opinion in structural heart and valvular heart disease. She has held many national and international leadership roles including council member and Education Committee Chair for the British Society of Echocardiography, council member and Training Lead for Cardiac Imaging for the Royal Society of Medicine Cardiology Section, Board member of the CSI Foundation (Structural, Valvular & Congenital Heart Interventions Worldwide), and has pioneered innovative training programs and conferences.
Her research interests include interventional imaging for valvular & structural heart disease including diagnosis, management and interventions and has co-authored national guidelines with over 100 original articles and book chapters. Dr Rana is the co-director for the CSI Frankfurt conferences, a leading forum in education in interventional structural heart interventions, attracting a worldwide audience.
