Dr. Barry London is a well-versed cardiologist with a track record of success and achievements in his specialty. He serves as a Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine within the Department of Internal Medicine of the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. In addition, he is the Potter Lambert Chair in Internal Medicine, the Director of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, and the Co-director of the Cardiovascular Research Center at the University of Iowa Hospital. Based in Iowa City, Iowa, Dr. Barry London enjoys a reputation for excellence in his field.
As a researcher, his interests reside in identifying arrhythmias of the heart using mice and also tracking the excitability of the heart using different ion channels. As a cardiologist, Dr. Barry London is interested in inherited genetic disorders, general cardiovascular disease, and cardiac intensive care. His extensive education also includes an AB degree in Chemistry and Physics from Harvard College, a BJ Ed in Hebrew Literature from Hebrew College, and a Ph.D. in Physiology and Biophysics (Medical Scientist Training Program). He explored every side of medicine, including serving on the editorial board of multiple cardiovascular journals (Circulation) and acting as an Associate Editor for the Journal of the American Heart Association in 2011.
