Society for Gastroenterology in Bavaria eV / Gesellschaft fur Gastroenterologie in Bayern e.V (GFGB)

The Society for Gastroenterology in Bavaria eV was founded in Munich in 1973 by Ludwig Demling and sees itself as representing the doctors in Bavaria working in the field of gastroenterology in clinics and practices.
With currently 460 members, it is the largest regional society in its field in Germany. The cultivation of collegial exchange on site is of central importance, in particular due to the annual holding of an annual conference at different locations in Bavaria.
For many years there has been a cooperation with DEGEA (German Society for Endoscopy Assistants), which organizes a one-day training event as part of the annual conference.
The Bavarian gastroenterologists are an association of approx. 600 specialists from clinics and practices who meet annually for a specialist conference. They are organized by a board of directors, an advisory board and several committees that decide on the quality of the work submitted.
