Overview:
Mindfulness has been shown to help heal depression, anxiety and many other long-standing issues for clients. As a proven method to help develop a sense of well-being beyond the circumstances in ones’ life, mindfulness creates a spaciousness inside that allows the client to realize they are “not their thoughts” but something more than their thoughts.
Through noticing and becoming aware of the cognitive distortions created in depression, one can then begin to see themselves as something beyond their story and choose differently. As a byproduct of that, energy, creativity, self-esteem and anxiety begin to shift, balancing out the brain of the depressed person.. The depressed person is then more flexible, has more choices and can experience a sense of inner freedom.

Identify primary cognitive distortions and ways to work with these.
