Integrating EMDR into your Clinical Practice teaches mental health clinicians the foundations of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy through lectures, videos, demonstrations, and practice sessions between participants. At the completion of this course, participants will have applied the Adaptive Information Processing theoretical approach to psychotherapy, the eight phases of EMDR therapy, and how to utilize EMDR with a variety of clinical populations. Special instruction is given on working with clients from a beliefs-focused approach and varying applications of bilateral stimulation depending on the needs of each particular client. As of 2020, this course also teaches clinicians how to utilize EMDR in a telehealth environment.,Part 1 Learning Objectives: EMDR Foundations:,After attending the training, participants will be able to:,• Discuss Francine Shapiro’s EMD dissertation,• Compare processing mechanisms, i.e., BLS, REM, orienting response, working memory,• Describe the Adaptive Information Processing Approach,• Demonstrate stabilization and affect management skills,• Demonstrate developing a belief focused targeting sequence plan,• Explain Phase 2, Section 1: Preparation’s EMDR informed consent process,• Describe the neurological significance of the Phase 3 questionnaire,• Explain EMD^’s processing procedures,• Explain EMDr’s processing procedures,• Discuss how Phase 8: Revaluation helps accomplish treatment integration,• Explain the rationale for using the two-prong (present and future) approach with EMD^ or EMDr,• Compare and contrast the modifications for virtual EMDR,• Discuss the application of EMDR in addressing implicit bias,• Explain the modifications necessary to effectively utilize EMDR’s techniques with children,• Discuss CID protocols,• Discuss the various self-use techniques one may teach a client,Part 2 Learning Objectives: Expanding EMDR Skills,After attending the training, participants will be able to:,• Explain the Core Belief Approach to symptom target planning,• Select the appropriate target planning approach,• Demonstrate symptom focused or neural network mapping and positive belief strengthening,• Demonstrate EMDR processing procedures,• Summarize clinical intervention strategies,• Select treatment interventions to manage client’s emotions,• Explain the various reevaluation approaches,• Explain the EMDR approach to treating couples,• Discuss working with the military/service professionals,• Describe modifications necessary when working with dissociation,• Explain the EMDR approach to treating addictions,• Recognize when to use EMDR treatment with grief,• Restate the EMDR approach to working with phobias,• Explain the EMDR approach to treating pain,• Summarize how to integrate EMDR into one’s clinical practice
